Our Kitchen Design Process

Embarking on a new kitchen is an exciting time.
It is a rare opportunity to start with a blank canvas and get the space you really want. A room that works for the whole family, drawing them in to gather, eat and socialise together.

So, where do you start with your new kitchen design plans, and what factors should you consider?

1. Get a Rough Idea

First up, If you’re not signed up to Pinterest, then now is the perfect time. It’s full of inspiration and kitchen design ideas that you can pin to several boards and refer back to at a later date. You can also explore hashtags on Pinterest and save them to your phone.
For example, some popular kitchen trends to search would be #handlelesskitchen, #openplankitchen, #kitchenisland.

2. Make a List

Once you’ve gathered all of your kitchen design ideas, you can start making a list of what it is you want. Your list doesn’t have to be final, nor does it need to be complete, but consider what you want in your new kitchen and list these down to ensure you remember to mention them to your kitchen designer.
Some things to think about are:

• Kitchen Style – Traditional or Modern? Handles or Handleless?
• Colours – Whites and Greys are always in fashion, but Blues and Greens are hugely popular right now. The world is your oyster!
• Kitchen Appliances – from steam ovens to inbuilt coffee machines, check our separate kitchen appliance website for more information.
• Kitchen must-haves – here is where you consider islands, seating, and generally how you want your kitchen to be used daily.

3. Get Started

Once you have some rough ideas for your kitchen project (and if you don’t, that’s fine too.) Choose a reliable kitchen designer and arrange a free design consultation to talk through your ideas and questions.

4. What Happens Next?

This may vary from company to company, but here’s a rundown of how the kitchen design process works when you trust in Butlers Kitchens for your dream kitchen:

At one of our free design consultations, we will listen to your thoughts and ideas of what you want to achieve with your new kitchen, what budget you’re working to, and get a good feel for what style you want. Then, we’ll let you have a wander around our kitchen showroom in Chester at our working displays.

Then, we’ll sit down and draw up your new kitchen. These drawings are accurate to life and give you a great idea of precisely what your kitchen will look like. You can take your time to make any changes until this is perfect.

There’s absolutely no pressure at Butlers Kitchens, and we understand a kitchen is a big commitment so, if you want to go home and think it over, we’ll get these designs sent over to you to look over at your leisure.

When you’re ready to start your journey, we will discuss time frames, final costings, and the design process and go over your designs to ensure you are delighted before signing on the dotted line.

You could choose to manage the project yourself or if you prefer choose our fully project managed service where we’ll completely manage the whole project from start to finish.
You can also rest assured that our job is not done once your kitchen is installed. We pride ourselves on our high-quality service and impeccable aftercare. So whilst we’re confident you won’t need us, we’re here if you do!
